Three-way comparison

EGO LM2101, LM2102SP or LM2114SP?

Two EGO 21-inch labels that both say “self-propelled” can still describe different controls, battery packages and mower generations. Compare the exact configuration table, not just the deck width. This guide looks at the push LM2101, self-propelled LM2102SP and self-propelled LM2114SP. All three are battery walk-behinds with bagging, mulching and side discharge on their manufacturer pages, but the operator’s work and the included kit differ.

LM2101: push-only with a 5.0 Ah kit

LM2101 uses the LM2100 push platform and does not have powered drive. Its exact kit listing includes a 5.0 Ah battery and Rapid Charger; the bare-tool LM2100 is a separate package code. The linked manual lists a 21-inch deck, a two-bushel collection bag and six cut heights from 1.5 to 4 inches. It is the most direct of these three choices if you want to supply the forward movement yourself and do not need a self-propel system. That simplicity is only useful if pushing the mower is comfortable for the route and grass you actually maintain.

LM2102SP: a trigger and speed lever

LM2102SP is the self-propelled version of the LM2100 platform. The manual describes a self-propel trigger and a separate speed-control lever. EGO’s exact kit table lists one 7.5 Ah battery and Rapid Charger; LM2100SP is mower-only, while LM2102SP-A is a distinct package with two 4.0 Ah packs and a Rapid Charger. The manual shows one battery compartment, so the -A spare pack should not be mistaken for a dual-port mower.

At a headline level, EGO says up to 60 minutes with a 7.5 Ah battery. The family manual gives light-, medium- and heavy-load estimates of 60, 45 and 30 minutes with that pack. This spread is a reminder that a maximum runtime is not a lawn-size guarantee. If a single session matters, compare your grass load and charging routine rather than extrapolating from nominal minutes.

LM2114SP: dual-toggle control and a different kit

The LM2114SP belongs to EGO’s 600-series 21-inch line and uses a dual-toggle self-propel layout. Its reviewed kit includes a 6.0 Ah battery and a 320 W charger. That is not the same control style as LM2102SP’s trigger and speed lever, and it is not Touch Drive. Its exact high-lift blade inclusion remains unconfirmed. Do not assume one self-propel handle, accessory list or battery package transfers to another EGO model.

What is shared—and what is not

Each model has a 21-inch cutting width, and the published 2100-family manual and 600-series product information list two-bushel bags. That shared capacity does not prove that the mowers have identical deck materials, blade systems or accessory contents. LM2101 and LM2102SP use the same basic 2100 platform; LM2114SP uses a distinct later self-propel arrangement. The LM2135 push mower is a different useful alternative if EGO Select Cut and its multi-blade system are the reason you are shopping.

All three require room for the full mower and its handle, not only a 21-inch passage. A bag adds clipping weight, and the product pictures are manufacturer renders rather than independent product photographs. Use the exact manual before deciding that a model fits a steep or wet route. The LM2100-family manual says not to mow slopes over 15 degrees or wet grass; do not read a self-propel system as permission to exceed those limits.

Choose the package, then check the yard

Choose LM2101 if push-only operation is acceptable and you want the 5.0 Ah kit. Choose LM2102SP if powered travel and its trigger-plus-speed-lever controls are what you want, with a single 7.5 Ah kit. Choose LM2114SP if you prefer dual toggles and the 6.0 Ah/320 W package. In each case, a bare-tool code changes what arrives, while a bundle’s extra battery changes the supply package but not necessarily how many packs the mower can use at once.

Before buying, check the exact seller model code, included charger, bag and clipping parts, then measure gates and storage. If a high-lift bagging blade, a minimum runtime or a particular deck material is essential, require exact package evidence; an accessory’s compatibility does not make it included. No single one of these EGO walk-behinds is a fit simply because it shares a 21-inch deck. The right choice follows from the drive controls you can use comfortably, the work you need to cover, and the configuration that is actually in the box.
