EGO package comparison

EGO LM3000SP or LM3004SP-2: tool only or battery kit?

The EGO LM3000SP and LM3004SP-2 share the 30-inch 1300 Series mower body, but they are not interchangeable package names. LM3000SP is the bare tool: EGO’s 2026 catalog and configuration table say that battery and charger are not included. LM3004SP-2 is the battery kit, listed with two 6.0 Ah batteries and a 560 W dual-port charger. If the included power system matters to you, the model suffix changes the practical purchase.

What is shared—and what is not

Both codes refer to EGO’s 30-inch Super Composite mower with two motors and two independent blades, variable-speed self-propel, three blade-speed modes, nine cut heights and mulching, bagging or side-discharge arrangements. The manual linked from the LM3004SP-2 page carries the base LM3000SP/LM3000SP-FC cover codes. Its instructions describe the 30-inch platform, including two active battery ports that accept one or two packs. That supports common operating details; it does not turn the base code into the kit code.

The mower’s body-only weight is listed as 103.6 pounds with the mulch insert and no battery pack. The marketed cut width is 30 inches; the manual’s separate deck-size figure is 30.8 inches. A wide cut is useful only if the whole mower can reach and turn in the mowing area. Measure gates and storage access, and remember that the published body weight rises when batteries are installed.

Match the package to the batteries you own

Choose LM3000SP only if you can supply suitable EGO 56V batteries and a compatible charger separately. The manual says the mower can run with one or two packs and recommends a combined capacity of at least 6 Ah for best performance. Two packs enable the longer-runtime arrangement referenced by EGO; the manufacturer’s up-to-75-minute figure is stated with two 6.0 Ah packs in Mode 1. It is not an area-per-charge promise, and it does not describe a battery included with LM3000SP.

LM3004SP-2 removes that separate battery-and-charger decision by listing two 6.0 Ah packs and a 560 W dual-port charger in the box. The two batteries remain two 6.0 Ah packs, not one 12 Ah battery. If your need is a minimum included pack count or minimum included pack capacity, the kit can meet a documented threshold that the bare tool cannot. Conversely, if compatible batteries and charging equipment are already in your shed, LM3000SP avoids buying the kit’s included packs again. The value comparison depends on what you own; no price advantage is assumed here.

Do not read a cutting mode as a blade-package promise

The manual lists a grass bag and frame, factory-installed mulch insert, and side-discharge chute. Changing from mulching to bagging means removing the insert; side discharge uses the insert with the chute. This is a supported operating setup, but it does not establish that a particular additional high-lift blade set is in either carton. EGO’s 2026 catalog lists a separate compatible 30-inch high-lift blade set. If that exact blade must be supplied with the mower, treat inclusion as unconfirmed for both configurations unless the exact package list states otherwise.

Both arrangements have the same practical access checks: front and rear height levers must be set to the same position, the manual advises against mowing wet grass, and it sets a maximum 15-degree slope. Remove battery packs before cleaning or servicing. Turbo offers higher lift but materially shortens battery runtime; Mode 1 favors the longest runtime and lower noise. A larger deck is not a remedy for tall, wet grass or an over-steep slope.

Which exact model belongs on your shortlist?

LM3000SP is the fit to compare when the wide deck suits an open route and you already have the battery system. LM3004SP-2 is the more complete package if you need the mower, two packs and a charger together. Neither changes the 30-inch access question or the heavy body handling. If either feels oversized for gates or tight turns, compare a 22-inch model such as LM2244SP-2; if a battery is essential but one 10 Ah pack is preferable to two separate packs, LM2236SP is another different configuration to examine.

In the finder, a 30-inch minimum, two-port requirement, self-propelled drive and a supported clipping route can fit either 30-inch model. Requiring one or more included battery packs, or an included minimum pack capacity, rejects LM3000SP and keeps LM3004SP-2 in the running. Requiring an extra high-lift blade in the carton should reject both until that exact package content is documented. EGO listed LM3000SP as a new additional configuration in its 2026 catalog, but its U.S. page displayed “Coming Soon” when checked; confirm the exact code and seller listing rather than assuming stock or confusing the tool-only model with the kit.
