Exact-kit comparison

Greenworks MZ5461: compare the 7422302 and 7430202 battery packages

Two Greenworks MZ5461 pages describe a 60V, 54-inch MaximusZ with different battery sets. Both say model MZ546, but the package code decides which capacities, runtime statements and facts actually belong to a buyer. This guide keeps the two kits separate and explains what the numbers can—and cannot—tell you.

Read the SKU 7422302 assessment or read the SKU 7430202 assessment. The manufacturer product pages identify each exact package: SKU 7422302 and SKU 7430202.

Start with the full SKU and the battery list

SKU 7422302's listed kit contains two 20Ah, two 8Ah and two 4Ah Greenworks 60V packs. Adding the label capacities gives 64Ah (40 + 16 + 8). SKU 7430202 lists two 20Ah and four 8Ah packs, which add to 72Ah. The second package has 8Ah more summed label capacity and a higher minimum pack rating: its smallest battery is 8Ah, rather than 4Ah. That difference is useful if you require every supplied pack to clear a particular capacity threshold. It does not mean that the mower cuts proportionally longer; voltage, discharge behavior, load and terrain matter, and a sum of separate packs is not one large battery.

Greenworks says at least three batteries must be installed, one in each functional column for drive and the left and right blade functions. It lists six packs with each kit. Consider how you would store and charge that set, and whether you have other tools on the same Greenworks 60V system. The 1.5kW charger and under-3.5-hour recharge statement appear with both package lists, but a quoted charge time is not a guarantee for every starting battery state or the exact turnaround you need.

Do not transfer one kit's runtime or acreage claim to the other

The SKU 7422302 page states up to 85 minutes and up to 3.5 acres with its six included batteries. Those are maker maxima, not a promise for a lawn with a particular grass height, moisture, slope, cut setting, clipping route or amount of steering around obstacles. The exact SKU7422302 selector also displays a 2x20Ah/4x8Ah label, despite the SKU-specific package list identifying two 20Ah, two 8Ah and two 4Ah packs. Treat that as a listing inconsistency and verify carton contents. The exact SKU 7430202 page has a conflict in its repeated product copy: one section says up to 3.5 acres, another says up to 2 acres. With that contradiction unresolved, the 7430202 assessment leaves its numeric area claim unknown. Nor does its larger summed battery label establish that it will run 12 additional Ah worth of minutes. Keep both limits visible rather than choosing the bigger number or transferring the 85-minute claim to a different SKU.

The two exact Greenworks product pages each call the mower MZ5461, but identify a U.S. SKU and MODEL# MZ546. The linked manual cover spans MZ546/MZ5481, MZ606 and MZ608(TYPE1); its technical table lists MZ546(TYPE1) in the 60V group. Keep that shared mower-family manual distinct from the kit-level evidence, which controls the exact battery bundle. A seller title that says only “MZ5461” is not enough to tell which six batteries are being supplied.

The machine still has the same access and safety constraints

For both kits, the product page markets a 54-inch cut, lap-bar zero-turn steering and 8mph maximum travel speed. The manual lists 76.77 inches long, 73.23 inches tall and 66.14 inches wide with the discharge chute; it also reports a 55.64-inch deck-width measurement. These are different measurement conventions, so measure the gate, turning area and storage opening using the manual's full-machine figures. A wide deck may cover more ground per pass, but it is a disadvantage when the lawn can only be reached through narrow routes.

Both exact package lists identify a mower, six batteries, 1.5kW charger and manual, not a bagger. Greenworks separately lists bagger SKU 7514002 for a 60V 54-inch MaximusZ; its page showed sold out when checked. The manual describes mulching too, but neither mower's box list names a mulch cover and an exact compatible cover was not confirmed. If bagging is essential, check the accessory's current availability and exact fit; if an attachment must be included in the mower carton, neither battery package meets that need.

Finally, use the MZ546 manual rather than marketing language for safe operation. It contains differing mowing-slope thresholds: an earlier general warning says not to operate above 10 degrees, while later passages and the product FAQ say 15 degrees. The manual also says not to tow with a grass catcher and lowers the rear-bin load to 90 pounds on a slope. Until the manufacturer clarifies the mower revision, plan around the more conservative slope warning and use the manual's stated hitch limits. Battery capacity and a maximum-acreage claim do not override route, storage or terrain limits.
