A useful fit for

A reference for the discontinued LM2001-X 20-inch push kit with the listed 7.5 Ah battery; it suits an operator-pushed arrangement only, but is not a current buying recommendation.

The main tradeoff

EGO labels exact LM2001-X discontinued and Coming Soon. Reference only; do not recommend it for current purchase. Deck material, cut-height range, bag capacity, weight and exact runtime are not established for this older code.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Is LM2001-X an operator-pushed 20-inch mower rather than a self-propelled one?

The exact EGO 20-inch page calls this a “push mower”; the operator supplies forward motion, and powered travel is not listed.

What battery and charger are in the exact LM2001-X package?

LM2001-X package includes one 7.5 Ah battery and the EGO Rapid Charger according to the exact configuration row.

Can LM2001-X be set up for bagging, mulching or side discharge?

EGO’s page identifies mulching, rear bagging and side discharge as 3-in-1 routes for the 20-inch mower. These are separate setups; the exact kit image does not establish which removable bag/insert/chute parts remain with a used carton.

Is LM2001-X eligible for a current buying recommendation?

EGO labels exact LM2001-X discontinued and Coming Soon. Reference only; do not recommend it for current purchase.

The EGO LM2001-X is the 20-inch push-mower kit in this older family that pairs the mower with one 7.5 Ah battery and a Rapid Charger. That higher-capacity pack is the defining difference from LM2001’s 4.0 Ah kit and LM2002’s 5.0 Ah kit; the mower page does not identify a different drive system for the X package. EGO marks the exact LM2001-X configuration discontinued while still showing “Coming Soon.” This review is a model-reference guide, not a current buy recommendation.

What the 7.5 Ah kit changes—and what it does not

The battery is included, so the LM2001-X is not a bare-tool purchase. EGO identifies the package as a 7.5 Ah pack plus Rapid Charger, and its product image depicts the mower, battery and charger together. Compared numerically with the 4.0 Ah LM2001 pack, 7.5 Ah is a larger rated capacity; that does not mean a proportional increase in runtime, a guaranteed area per charge, or a measured advantage in any lawn. EGO’s 20-inch family page says at least 45 minutes with a 4.0 Ah battery or higher, but does not publish a maximum runtime for the LM2001-X itself. Conditions, battery state and the work being cut matter.

The Rapid Charger is part of the listed package, but the configuration row does not state a model-specific recharge time. Do not turn “Rapid” into a promise that a particular 7.5 Ah pack will be ready before a second mowing session. If the household already has compatible EGO batteries, compare the value of an additional pack against the need to carry and store another large battery. EGO’s family page says its batteries are compatible across the system, but a used battery’s age and condition cannot be established from the mower’s model code.

A 20-inch push layout still sets the work pattern

LM2001-X belongs to EGO’s 20-inch push-mower page, which describes mulching, rear bagging and side discharge. That means the operator moves the mower and chooses one clipping route at a time. It does not offer powered travel for a lawn where pushing is the limiting factor. The relatively narrow cut path can help when the gate, garden beds or short turning spaces shape the route, though the full machine is wider than its cutting path. Measure the route and storage space rather than making a decision from deck width alone.

The page lists fold-flat storage, LED headlights, weather-resistant construction rated IPX4, a 600-watt high-torque magnetic motor and 3300 rpm. Treat those as EGO’s family-page descriptions, not test results. In particular, the site’s at-least-45-minute statement is not a rating for wet or tall grass, nor does IPX4 mean the deck should be washed with a hose. The manufacturer’s page advises removing the safety key and battery before cleaning and says not to spray the underside with water.

Use the manual for the mower body, not the bundle code

The manual linked on the family page carries LM2000-S/LM2000-S-FC on its cover. A separate EGO service-parts list names LM2000 and LM2000-S as different models with different body numbers. The LM2001-X package code does not by itself prove that the later S manual’s measurements apply to the earlier mower. Its page does not establish deck material, cut-height range, bag capacity, tool weight, an exact runtime table or whether a high-lift blade is in the package. Read the manual that matches the mower’s own label before servicing the blade or deciding whether the machine is suitable for a slope; do not use an online bundle name as a substitute for that plate.

If you are considering an old LM2001-X, confirm that its battery and Rapid Charger are physically present and that the pack accepts and holds charge; no page description can verify a used battery’s condition. For a current 20-inch alternative, the LM2021 is an operator-pushed steel-deck model sold as a separate bare-tool identity, while LM2022SP adds powered drive and a different kit. For a 21-inch EGO push kit, compare LM2101. These alternatives differ in mower body, controls or package and should not be treated as feature-equivalent replacements for LM2001-X.
