Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Is LM2001 an operator-pushed 20-inch mower rather than a self-propelled one?
The exact EGO 20-inch page calls this a “push mower”; the operator supplies forward motion, and powered travel is not listed.
Explore this need in the finder →What battery and charger are in the exact LM2001 package?
LM2001 package includes one 4.0 Ah battery and the EGO Rapid Charger according to the exact configuration row.
Explore this need in the finder →Can LM2001 be set up for bagging, mulching or side discharge?
EGO’s page identifies mulching, rear bagging and side discharge as 3-in-1 routes for the 20-inch mower. These are separate setups; the exact kit image does not establish which removable bag/insert/chute parts remain with a used carton.
Explore this need in the finder →Is LM2001 eligible for a current buying recommendation?
EGO labels exact LM2001 discontinued and Coming Soon. Reference only; do not recommend it for current purchase.
The EGO LM2001 is a 20-inch push-mower kit with one 4.0 Ah battery and a Rapid Charger. Its exact configuration is distinct from the mower-only LM2000 and the larger-battery LM2001-X. EGO’s page also marks LM2001 discontinued while displaying “Coming Soon,” so this is a reference assessment for identifying the package, not a current purchase recommendation. A used listing should show the full code and the battery and charger in the carton; a photo of the mower alone does not establish kit contents.
The kit removes one startup decision, not every ownership task
Compared with a bare tool, LM2001 arrives with a battery and charger according to EGO’s configuration table. That is the practical distinction: the owner does not have to source those two pieces separately before the mower can be used. The included 4.0 Ah pack also sits at the threshold of the manufacturer’s 20-inch-family runtime statement, which says at least 45 minutes of cutting with a 4.0 Ah battery or higher. It is not a guarantee for a specific lawn, a maximum-runtime number or a promise of a particular acreage. Long, damp or dense grass and mowing technique change how much work a charge can cover.
The Rapid Charger is a convenience for a household that expects to cycle the mower pack between uses, but EGO does not provide an exact LM2001 charge-time figure in this configuration table. Do not infer an exact charging interval from the word “Rapid.” If you already own EGO 56-volt ARC Lithium equipment, the family page says EGO batteries and chargers work across its system; still check the code and condition of the actual battery and charger. The LM2001 package is no reason to buy duplicate equipment unless its exact included items are useful.
Push-only width and separate clipping plans
EGO describes its 20-inch mower as a push mower with three clipping routes: mulching, rear bagging and side discharge. The operator supplies all forward motion; this is not the choice for someone who requires a powered drive. The smaller cutting path can be attractive where access and close turns matter more than minimizing passes, but measure the outside width and handle clearance at the real bottleneck rather than treating the cut width as the full machine size.
Choose one clipping arrangement for a pass. Mulching, bagging and side discharge require different setups; they are not interchangeable labels for the same operating plan. EGO’s exact LM2001 image shows the mower, one battery and a charger, not a bag or the other loose cutting attachments. The product-page family description supports the three modes, but a used seller’s package may not retain every part. Ask for the exact accessories and inspect them before treating a bagging or mulching requirement as satisfied. The page lists a 20-inch cut, fold-flat storage, LED lights, IPX4 weather-resistant construction and a 600-watt motor described at 3300 rpm. These are manufacturer statements, not independent measurements or performance testing.
Do not import specifications from the later LM2000-S
The linked operator manual on EGO’s page is titled for LM2000-S and LM2000-S-FC, not LM2001. EGO’s service-parts list separates LM2000 from LM2000-S with different body numbers. That is a clear reason not to assign the later manual’s five cut-height positions, 1.2–3.5-inch range, 1.7-bushel bag or 56.2-pound weight to the earlier kit. Use the manual that matches the mower’s own model plate before adjusting height, replacing a blade, mowing a slope or carrying out service. EGO’s general 20-inch page says to remove the safety key and battery before cleaning and not to hose the underside, but the exact manual remains the authority for the machine in hand.
The source page does not establish LM2001’s deck material, bag capacity, machine weight, exact runtime curve or a high-lift blade in the kit. Its included battery is known to be 4.0 Ah; that fact should not be stretched into a runtime or lawn-size prediction. For a shopper who needs a currently recommended 20-inch machine, compare LM2021 or LM2022SP instead. For a push mower with a documented kit battery in a 21-inch format, the separate LM2101 review is a more relevant package comparison. LM2001 remains useful when identifying an older EGO mower and checking whether a used offer actually includes the right 4.0 Ah pack and Rapid Charger.
