EGO POWER+ LM2002 20-inch Push Mower Kit review

An older EGO 20-inch push-mower package with a 5.0 Ah battery; charger identity is retained as rapid where source evidence conflicts.

Reference only: EGO’s 20-inch page lists the exact LM2002 configuration but marks it Coming Soon; it is not offered here as a current purchase option. Verify the mower label, package contents and matching operator manual.

A useful fit for

A reference for the discontinued LM2002 20-inch push kit with the listed 5.0 Ah battery; it suits an operator-pushed arrangement only, but is not a current buying recommendation.

The main tradeoff

EGO labels exact LM2002 discontinued and Coming Soon. Reference only; do not recommend it for current purchase. Deck material, cut-height range, bag capacity, weight and exact runtime are not established for this older code.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Is LM2002 an operator-pushed 20-inch mower rather than a self-propelled one?

The exact EGO 20-inch page calls this a “push mower”; the operator supplies forward motion, and powered travel is not listed.

What battery and charger are in the exact LM2002 package?

LM2002 package includes one 5.0 Ah battery and the EGO Rapid Charger according to the exact configuration row.

Can LM2002 be set up for bagging, mulching or side discharge?

EGO’s page identifies mulching, rear bagging and side discharge as 3-in-1 routes for the 20-inch mower. These are separate setups; the exact kit image does not establish which removable bag/insert/chute parts remain with a used carton.

Is LM2002 eligible for a current buying recommendation?

EGO labels exact LM2002 discontinued and Coming Soon. Reference only; do not recommend it for current purchase.

The EGO LM2002 is a discontinued 20-inch push-mower kit that EGO lists with one 5.0 Ah battery and a Rapid Charger. Its package sits between the smaller 4.0 Ah LM2001 kit and the 7.5 Ah LM2001-X kit, but the product page does not publish an exact LM2002 runtime or lawn-area figure. EGO shows the SKU as discontinued while also marking it “Coming Soon,” so this is a reference assessment for reading an old carton or seller description, not a current purchase recommendation.

Battery-and-charger kit versus bare mower

Unlike LM2000, LM2002 is not a bare tool: the official configuration table names a 5.0 Ah battery and Rapid Charger. That matters most if the buyer lacks a compatible battery and charger, or if the included pack is intended to be a separate mowing pack within an existing EGO setup. EGO’s page says its 56-volt ARC Lithium batteries and chargers work across the EGO range. It does not say that a used battery is healthy, and the bundle code alone cannot establish the condition of the pack, charger or contacts.

EGO’s general 20-inch page advertises at least 45 minutes of cutting with a 4.0 Ah battery or higher. The included 5.0 Ah battery is above that threshold, but the manufacturer does not present a measured maximum for this exact bundle. Grass height, moisture, density, cutting method and pack condition affect runtime. Do not convert the number into a fixed lawn-size recommendation. Nor should a 5.0 Ah pack be assumed to deliver a specified percentage more usable mowing time than a 4.0 Ah battery; amp-hour capacity alone does not determine the actual cutting result.

Plan around push travel and the three clipping routes

The EGO 20-inch page describes a push mower and lists mulching, rear bagging and side discharge. The operator supplies all forward motion. This is a meaningful mismatch if self-propelled travel is essential or if frequent uphill pushes would be a burden. The cutting path may be useful around narrower openings and obstacles, but the outside width, turning room and folded storage height should be measured on the actual machine.

Each clipping option is a separate setup. The machine’s product image shows the mower, battery and charger; it does not confirm all bagging or mulching attachments are still present in an older sale. The page’s accessory section names an EGO 20-inch blade, and the exact 20-inch parts list identifies service components for the LM2000 body, but neither should be mistaken for proof of every seller’s carton. Ask for the collection bag, frame, mulch plug and side-discharge chute if one of those arrangements matters. A family-level 3-in-1 description is not the same as a documented package inventory.

Why the exact manual matters

The manual linked from EGO’s 20-inch page is headed LM2000-S/LM2000-S-FC, while EGO’s service-parts list separates LM2000 and LM2000-S by model and body number. LM2002 is a kit code in the configuration selector, and the available sources do not establish that all measurements from the S manual transfer to this earlier body. No exact LM2002 deck material, cut-height range, bag capacity, weight or runtime maximum is published in the sources used here. For a used machine, find the model plate and use the instructions and replacement-parts list that match it before blade service, adjustment or work on a slope.

EGO describes the 20-inch mower page as foldable and IPX4 weather resistant, with LED lights and a 600-watt high-torque magnetic motor at 3300 rpm. These are manufacturer feature statements, not test measurements. EGO’s page also says not to spray the underside with a hose and to remove the safety key and battery before cleaning. IPX4 does not mean a used mower can be left exposed to weather or washed under pressure.

If you need a currently recommended EGO kit, compare the separate 20-inch steel-deck LM2022SP if powered travel matters, or the LM2101 if a 21-inch push mower and 5.0 Ah kit suits your access. The LM2021 is another 20-inch push option but a distinct model and package. LM2002 remains useful for identifying the 5.0 Ah/ Rapid Charger combination; the discontinued status and the manual/body distinction are reasons to verify the exact mower rather than assume a reseller’s photo or bundle title.
