The EGO LM2100-FC is a 21-inch push mower sold as a factory-certified reconditioned bare tool. That suffix matters: the exact US seller record identifies the SKU as reconditioned, without a battery or charger, and now labels it discontinued. This assessment is useful for identifying an existing mower or checking a used or leftover offer; it is not a recommendation to buy a discontinued model. The unsuffixed LM2100 is a separate product code, and the LM2101 kit is a different package again.

What the -FC code means for the package

The LM2100-FC is not a battery-and-charger starter kit. The exact reconditioned listing says zero batteries and no charger. EGO's manual recommends a 56V 5.0 Ah pack for the push LM2100 platform, but that is a separate purchase and a runtime basis, not a box-content promise. If you have no compatible pack and rapid charger, the cost and availability of those components must be considered before a mower-only configuration makes sense. The new LM2101 package is the related but distinct 5.0 Ah-plus-charger kit; do not transfer its contents or warranty term to the -FC code.

Condition and coverage are also different. The exact retailer identifies LM2100-FC as factory-certified reconditioned; EGO's North American warranty table assigns reconditioned or Factory-Certified products a one-year consumer-use term. That is shorter than the five-year personal-use term listed for ordinary walk-behind equipment. A refurbished listing does not describe the cosmetic state or service history of a specific machine, so a buyer of a remaining or used unit should check the seller's inspection, return and warranty terms rather than assume a like-new appearance.

Push-only travel and a familiar cutting width

This is the operator-propelled member of the 21-inch 2100 pair. There is no powered wheel drive: you steer and supply all forward motion. That can be a sensible arrangement on a relatively open route where pushing is acceptable and a simple travel system is preferable. It is the wrong fit when self-propulsion is essential, especially if repeated hills, long pushes or the operator's comfort are the reason for replacing a mower. The LM2100SP-FC is a different code with powered drive; its trigger and separate speed lever must not be confused with push-only control or EGO's later Touch Drive handle.

The shared EGO operator manual lists a 21-inch deck, 2,800-rpm no-load blade speed, six cutting positions from 1.5 to 4 inches, a 2-bushel bag and a weight of 55.34 pounds without the battery with the mulch insert fitted. Those specifications describe the documented LM2100/LM2100-FC platform, not a measurement of a refurbished individual unit. Cutting width is not the full outside width, so measure gates, corners and storage access before relying on the 21-inch figure. Exact deck material and a numerical maximum-torque figure are not established for this SKU; the general “gas-like torque” marketing phrase is not a substitute for either fact.

Runtime depends on a separately supplied battery

EGO's manual gives a useful load-sensitive estimate for this push platform with the recommended 5.0 Ah pack: about 45 minutes in light load, 30 in medium and 20 in heavy load. It specifically warns that grass species, density and moisture change running time. The retailer's “up to 45 minutes” headline is therefore a best-case manufacturer estimate, not an area-per-charge guarantee. Tall or damp growth, a low cut and a slower pass can change the work completed. The package itself contains no battery, so none of these runtime figures describes the mower as delivered.

Clipping modes and exact accessory limits

The exact model listing describes mulching, bagging and side discharge, while the family manual describes a grass bag and frame, a preinstalled mulch insert and a side-discharge chute. The reconditioned seller page does not provide a complete parts-by-parts carton list. Confirm the chute and the condition of each clipping attachment if one route is essential. A mode description also does not establish that a separate High-Lift bagging blade is included; that blade is not confirmed as part of this exact package, so a required-included-blade need should reject it.

Care, limits and a better alternative

The operator manual says not to mow wet grass or slopes steeper than 15 degrees. Stop the blade, wait until it stops, and remove the battery before service or clearing a blockage; do not hose the underside or direct water at electrical components. The platform is described as weather resistant, but that wording is not a promise that wet mowing or washdown is safe.

LM2100-FC makes most sense as a reference for an EGO owner comparing an older push body, its bare-tool package and its shorter reconditioned warranty. Its discontinued status is a reason to look elsewhere for a current purchase. The unsuffixed LM2100 shares the push-only idea but is a different code; the LM2101 is the named 5.0 Ah kit; and the newer LM2114 is another 21-inch push option with a different battery package. If powered movement is essential, compare a current self-propelled model instead. Do not let the similar 21-inch names obscure the differences in condition, package and travel control.
