EGO POWER+ LM2120SP-FC 21-inch Reconditioned Touch Drive Mower review

The EGO LM2120SP-FC is the factory-reconditioned, 21-inch Touch Drive bare tool. Its important buying distinction is not a larger deck or a new cutting system: it is a powered mower without a battery or charger in the box. The exact US listing describes the LM2120SP-FC code, the Touch Drive palm control and a one-year limited warranty. It can fit an EGO 56V owner who already has a compatible battery and charger and prefers Touch Drive; it is a poor first-kit choice if the mower needs to arrive ready to charge and mow.

Bare tool means no battery and no charger

The retailer’s package details describe one mower only, with zero included battery packs and no charger. Do not infer that the 60-minute headline means a pack is supplied. The listing ties that maximum to a separately purchased compatible 7.5 Ah battery. The manufacturer’s North American manual lists LM2120SP-FC in its 21-inch self-propelled family, so the exact -FC identity has an official manual bridge in addition to the exact US retailer code. EGO’s warranty policy gives reconditioned or Factory-Certified consumer products one year, subject to its terms; it is not the ordinary new-mower coverage.

A factory image of the LM2120SP body shows the mower platform, not reconditioned condition or carton contents. It cannot tell you what marks, service history or packaging an individual item has. If buying new condition and a longer new-product warranty matter, consider the standard LM2125SP kit, which is the related Touch Drive family sold with a larger battery package. If a battery and charger are required in one carton, this bare-tool code fails that need regardless of compatibility with batteries you might own.

Touch Drive versus other EGO controls

Touch Drive is a palm-pressure self-propel control, not the 600-series dual-toggle arrangement used by the LM2114SP-FC and not the trigger-plus-separate-speed-lever system on other 21-inch families. The mower remains an operator-guided walk-behind: self-propulsion helps it travel but does not navigate around landscaping or carry the operator. If you want to set travel speed through a different handle motion, that control distinction matters more than the broad 21-inch size.

The 21-inch poly deck is wider than EGO’s 20-inch older steel-deck family but narrower than its 22-inch aluminum or Super Composite choices and the 30-inch dual-motor mower. Measure gates, turns and storage. The linked family manual specifies a single 56V battery port, 6.0 ft-lb maximum torque, 2,800 rpm, seven height positions from 1.25 to 4 inches and a two-bushel bag. The mower supports mulching, bagging and side discharge. This is a single-blade 600-series system, not Select Cut.

Runtime is conditional, not an area estimate

The exact listing’s up-to-60-minute figure is linked to a separate 7.5 Ah battery. EGO’s manual gives approximate light-, medium- and heavy-load runtimes of 60, 45 and 30 minutes for the LM2120SP family using that reference pack. Grass species, height, moisture, density, cut setting and walking pace change the result; maximum runtime cannot promise a lawn size or a number of passes. The bare tool includes no battery, and its one battery port does not turn a two-pack purchase into simultaneous parallel operation.

The manual’s ordinary mowing modes use the bag/frame, mulch insert or side-discharge chute. Do not assume this exact refurbished package includes a separate High-Lift or Extended Runtime blade: that inclusion is not documented in the exact bare-tool listing. If a named blade must be in the carton, treat the answer as unknown and verify before purchase rather than relying on what the mower can support with accessories.

Practical fit and operating limits

The manual limits operation on slopes to 15 degrees, says not to mow wet grass and directs owners to remove the battery before cleaning or servicing. It also warns against directing water at the motor fan. Although the body carries an IPX4 splash-resistance designation, that does not make wet-grass mowing or pressure washing appropriate. Follow the instructions included with the exact model and inspect the reconditioned unit before use.

In the finder, LM2120SP-FC fits a 21-inch minimum, self-propelled drive, Touch Drive, poly deck and any supported clipping route. It fails a push-only or dual-toggle requirement, any included-battery minimum, a charger requirement, standard-condition-only choice, or two-port minimum. It can be the economical package logic for an owner who already has the right EGO battery and charger, but only if reconditioned condition and the one-year warranty are acceptable. Compare LM2122SP-2-FC for a two-battery Touch Drive kit; compare LM2114SP-FC for included dual-toggle kit equipment; compare LM2125SP for a new Touch Drive kit.
