A useful fit for

A 21-inch Touch Drive walk-behind for someone who already has a compatible EGO 56V battery and charger, or has deliberately chosen to source them separately.

The main tradeoff

This exact configuration is tool-only: EGO lists no battery or charger in the package. Its runtime claims depend on a separately supplied pack and vary with load and grass; they are not an area-per-charge guarantee.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Do you want the mower to help set the walking pace?

Yes. EGO lists Touch Drive self-propelled operation from 0.9 to 3.1 mph. You still guide the walk-behind around the lawn.

Explore this need in the finder →
Do you need a bagging setup with a high-lift blade?

The manufacturer page lists bagging and a two-bushel bag; the linked LM2130SP-family manual packing list names the high-lift lower blade. Those parts are used in their appropriate setup, not all at once.

Explore this need in the finder →
Must the exact mower carton include at least one battery pack?

Then LM2130SP does not fit: the official configuration row says battery and charger are not included. Compare the separately listed battery-and-charger kits instead.

Is a 21-inch minimum cutting width essential?

The LM2130SP configuration is the 21-inch Select Cut mower, so it meets a minimum of 21 inches but not a 22-inch minimum.

Explore this need in the finder →

The EGO LM2130SP is the tool-only version of the brand’s 21-inch Select Cut mower with Touch Drive self-propelled operation. The exact configuration row says that neither a battery nor charger is included. That is the choice that changes this package: it has the assisted-walking mower, not the battery-and-charger bundle represented by LM2135SP or the two-pack options LM2134SP-2 and LM2132SP-2.

Touch Drive is the main reason to pick this version

LM2130SP is a walk-behind, not a mower that steers itself. EGO describes Touch Drive as palm-pressure activation for self-propelled movement, with a dial for adjusting pace. Its listed travel speed is 0.9 to 3.1 mph. This can matter on long, repeated passes where pushing the deck would be an unwanted part of the job, while a conventional push mower is simpler if you prefer to supply all the forward force. The operator still guides the mower around beds, trees and turns.

The deck is 21 inches wide, so it sits between narrow-access machines and wider residential walk-behinds. Measure the whole machine’s path and storage space rather than assuming a 21-inch cutting width is the required clearance. The handle folds for storage, but the product page does not say every shed or doorway will accommodate it.

Choose the clipping setup that fits your routine

The Select Cut system is meant to let you change the lower blade for different work. EGO’s current product page lists mulching, bagging and side discharge, an included two-bushel bag, and mulching, high-lift bagging and extended-runtime lower blades used with an upper blade. There is a package-document difference worth noting: the linked LM2130SP-family manual lists a preinstalled mulch insert plus the extended-runtime and high-lift bagging lower blades, but it does not list a separate mulching lower blade in that packing table. If that particular blade matters to your purchase, check the exact seller carton rather than assuming the two documents describe identical included pieces. These are alternate setups: the mower cannot mulch, bag and discharge through different openings at once.

Eight cutting-height positions cover 1 to 4 inches. That is a useful stated adjustment range, not a promise that any height is right for every lawn. EGO’s manual advises taking off no more than about a third of the grass height at once and slowing down in thick growth. If a lawn has become tall, the practical answer may be a higher first pass or more than one pass rather than expecting the mower to power through everything in a single cut.

Tool-only means your battery decision comes first

The exact LM2130SP row on EGO’s page says “Not Included” for both battery and charger. Shortlist it when you already have a compatible EGO 56V ARC Lithium battery and a way to charge it, or when you have independently decided to buy those components. If you need a complete mower kit in one carton, this is the wrong version. An included-pack minimum in the finder should rule it out; the mower’s compatibility with a battery system is not the same as a battery arriving with it.

The product page states up to 60 minutes with a recommended 7.5 Ah battery. The family manual gives approximate LM2130SP running-time figures of 60 minutes under light load, 45 under medium load and 30 under heavy load with its specified pack. EGO says actual time varies with grass species, density and moisture. These are manufacturer operating figures, not a measured area-per-charge result for your lawn. Self-propel use, high or wet grass, blade sharpness and cutting setup can all change the work completed. Do not add two battery capacities together to convert the claim into a yard-size guarantee.

Practical details and operating limits

The manual lists a 2-bushel bag and a mower weight of 55.3 pounds without the battery and with the mulch insert. That is a useful handling reference, but adding a battery changes what you lift or maneuver. The manual identifies a self-propel trigger and separate speed-control knob, plus a push-button start and LED headlights on EGO’s product page. This is more involved than a light push mower, even though it avoids gasoline refueling and engine oil.

The linked manual cover includes LM2130SP by model code and supplies applicable assembly and safety instructions. It says not to mow wet grass or slopes greater than 15 degrees. Before clearing, cleaning or changing the bag or chute, stop the motor, wait until the blade has completely stopped, and remove the battery. For cleaning, it warns against water on the motor fan and calls for wiping the mower with a damp cloth. IPX4 weather-resistance is not permission to hose down the machine.

Which EGO alternative makes sense?

LM2135SP is the closest package comparison: the same 21-inch Select Cut Touch Drive category with one 7.5 Ah battery and Rapid Charger listed. That kit is more convenient if you need those items; LM2130SP avoids buying another pack and charger if you already have suitable EGO equipment. The same current EGO page lists LM2134SP-2 with two 6 Ah packs and LM2132SP-2 with two 4 Ah packs. Those are distinct cartons, not evidence that two smaller packs produce a particular combined runtime. The page showed the configurations as Coming Soon when checked, so verify availability and the exact code before ordering.

Choose LM2130SP when Touch Drive, a 21-inch deck and reuse of a compatible battery system are priorities, and you accept buying the tool without a battery or charger. Choose a kit if you need those items supplied. Look elsewhere if you require a wider deck, a riding mower or a confirmed exact package with a larger included battery. Compare the model suffix, pack, charger and cutting attachments in the seller’s listing; a picture of the mower alone cannot settle what arrives in the carton.

Blade package detailEGO's current product page lists a mulching, high-lift bagging and extended-runtime lower blade plus the upper blade. The linked LM2130SP-family manual packing table lists a preinstalled mulch insert and names extended-runtime and high-lift bagging lower blades, but does not list a separate mulching lower blade there. These are alternate clipping setups, not simultaneous modes; verify the carton if the exact mulching blade matters.
Care and operation noteThe exact LM2130SP code appears on the linked manual cover. The manual says not to put water on the motor fan and to wipe the mower with a damp cloth.
