LM2200SP is the exact U.S. cast-aluminum tool-only configuration; EGO’s linked manual also lists LM2200SP-FC in the same operating-guide family. No distinct -FC carton, sale status or warranty package is established. Do not transfer this base row’s battery/charger answer to an -FC offer.

A useful fit for

For an owner who wants a 22-inch self-propelled walk-behind mower, a cast-aluminum deck, one active battery port and the bare tool rather than a battery-and-charger kit.

The main tradeoff

This exact configuration supplies no battery or charger, and the manual lists 83.8 lb without a battery with the mulch insert installed. Its conditional maximum runtime is not an area-per-charge result.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Will the mower propel itself rather than relying on the operator to push it?

Yes. EGO lists Touch Drive self-propel with a 0.9–3.1 mph range; the operator still guides the mower.

Is the 22-inch deck cast aluminum?

Yes. EGO identifies the LM2200SP deck as cast aluminum and states a lifetime limited deck warranty with registration.

Explore this need in the finder →
Does the LM2200SP configuration include a battery pack?

No. The exact EGO row identifies LM2200SP as tool-only and marks both battery and charger not included.

Explore this need in the finder →
Does the base LM2200SP manual list a High-Lift Bagging lower blade in its package contents?

Yes. The manual packing list names a High-Lift Bagging lower blade; this finding is specific to the exact base-model manual and must not be assumed for other kit SKUs.

Can the mower meet a requirement for at least two active battery ports?

No. The LM2200SP uses one battery position; the dual-port Peak Power alternative is LM2240SP.

The EGO LM2200SP is the bare-tool version of a 22-inch, self-propelled Select Cut mower with a cast-aluminum deck. The exact product page lists it separately from the LM2206SP kit and marks its battery and charger as not included. This matters more than the similar-looking model numbers: a buyer who already owns compatible EGO 56V ARC Lithium batteries may prefer the tool-only configuration, while a first-time battery-system buyer should compare the complete LM2206SP package before treating the lower package price as a saving. EGO currently labels both rows “Coming Soon,” so this assessment does not claim either package is available from a retailer today.

Cast aluminum is the defining choice

The 22-inch deck is cast aluminum, a real distinction from the Super Composite deck on the LM2240SP. EGO advertises a lifetime limited deck warranty with registration for this aluminum platform. That is a manufacturer warranty term, not a durability test, and it should be read with its registration and eligibility conditions. The manual lists 83.8 pounds without a battery, with the mulching insert installed. That is substantial for a walk-behind mower, especially if you need to lift it into storage or carry it over steps; the battery and any accessories add to the weight. If minimizing lifting weight is a priority, the published 70.3-pound bare-tool figure for the composite-deck LM2240SP is notably lower, though neither number tells the whole story of pushing effort on a particular lawn.

EGO publishes up to 11.1 ft-lb of torque and blade speed up to 3,350 rpm for the aluminum version. The manual gives three blade-speed selections—Mode 1, Mode 2 and Turbo—and eight cutting positions from 1 to 4 inches. The front and rear height levers are adjusted individually; the manual recommends keeping them at the same setting for most users. A 2.5-bushel bag, mulching insert and side-discharge chute support the three usual clipping routes. These specifications describe options, not proof that every setting suits every grass or leaves a particular finish.

What the bare-tool package does—and does not—include

The model-specific manual cover names LM2200SP and LM2200SP-FC. Its packing list for that model family names the mower, grass bag and frame, a factory-installed mulching insert, a factory-installed High Performance blade set, a High-Lift Bagging lower blade, a side-discharge chute and the manual. That is stronger evidence for the LM2200SP's included blades than the adjacent kit page alone provides. Battery and charger are not in the manual's packing list, and EGO explicitly marks them not included for the LM2200SP row. Do not mistake battery compatibility for a battery supplied in the carton.

The manual's runtime table is conditional: with a compatible BA5600T/BA5600T-FC 10 Ah battery it estimates 70 minutes in Mode 1, 60 in Mode 2 and 45 in Turbo. That pack is not included with this mower-only configuration. These are approximate manufacturer figures, and the manual says grass type, density and moisture change runtime. EGO's page also says the mower works with 56V ARC Lithium packs; it does not turn the manual's test configuration into an area-per-charge promise. If you require a battery in the same purchase, set that as an essential questionnaire choice and this bare tool should drop out.

Code boundary: EGO’s official 22-inch operator manual prints LM2200SP and LM2200SP-FC together as covered model numbers. This review’s battery-free package facts apply to the separately listed U.S. LM2200SP tool-only configuration. The paired manual does not identify a second -FC carton, battery supply, warranty or sales status, so treat any suffix offer as a distinct package to verify rather than borrowing this model’s included-item answers.

Touch Drive is still a walking mower

Touch Drive engages self-propelled movement through palm pressure, with a separate dial for a listed 0.9–3.1 mph pace. The operator still steers and controls the mower; this is not a riding machine or an autonomous system. If you need self-propelled assistance, the LM2200SP fits. If you want push-only operation, this is the wrong model. If you require two active battery ports, choose another configuration: this platform is a single-port design, unlike the LM2240SP's dual-port Peak Power system.

The deck is rated IPX4 as a mower-and-battery system, but the manual says not to mow wet grass and warns against directing water at the motor fan. Remove the battery before cleaning or service, let the blade stop, and follow the current manual. It also limits mowing to slopes no steeper than 15 degrees and says not to use the mower in rain. A splash-resistance rating is not a license to ignore those instructions.

How to decide among the 22-inch choices

Choose LM2200SP when the cast-aluminum deck, self-propelled walking, single-port arrangement and tool-only purchase all fit your actual setup. If you need the same aluminum deck with battery and charger supplied, compare LM2206SP; EGO lists one 10 Ah battery and a 700 W Turbo Charger for that kit, but do not assume a kit's blade inventory from the base-model manual. If dual ports and two-pack Peak Power operation matter, compare LM2240SP: its composite deck is lighter by the published bare-tool figures and its manual specifies up to 90 minutes in ECO with two 6 Ah packs, but the bare tool includes neither pack nor charger. The LM2236SP is another composite-deck alternative sold as a one-pack kit.

In a finder, a 22-inch minimum, cast-aluminum requirement, self-propelled drive or included High-Lift blade can point toward the LM2200SP. Requiring an included battery pack excludes it; so does a dual-port minimum or a Super Composite deck requirement. Before choosing, inventory your compatible batteries and chargers, confirm the exact code on the carton, and check that its weight and width suit your storage route. This is a source-based model assessment, not a hands-on test or a current stock report.
