Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does a 30-inch cut suit the open route and storage access?
The LM3000SP is the 30-inch EGO walk-behind; its actual deck-size specification is 30.8 inches, so measure the whole access route.
Explore this need in the finder →Is self-propelled travel with Touch Drive essential?
Yes. EGO identifies Touch Drive; the manual describes a speed dial and drive triggers, and the mower can also be pushed with powered drive off.
Explore this need in the finder →Must the exact purchase include at least one battery pack?
If yes, LM3000SP fails: this exact configuration is the tool only, with no battery or charger.
Explore this need in the finder →Is an extra high-lift blade set essential in the carton?
If yes, LM3000SP fails because the catalog lists compatible blade accessories but exact package inclusion is not confirmed.
Explore this need in the finder →The EGO LM3000SP is the mower-only version of EGO’s new 30-inch 1300 Series walk-behind: the exact configuration does not include a battery or charger. Its value therefore depends on two separate decisions. First, is a wide, self-propelled mower suitable for your route and storage? Second, do you already have compatible 56V EGO batteries and charging equipment, or should you compare the LM3004SP-2 kit instead?
LM3000SP is a bare-tool purchase
EGO’s 2026 U.S. product catalog lists the LM3000SP as an additional configuration of the 30-inch dual-motor mower and says the battery and charger are not included. EGO’s LM3004SP-2 page makes the same distinction between the mower-only LM3000SP and the kit. In other words, two battery ports do not mean two batteries arrive in this carton. The LM3000SP itself is supplied without either a pack or charger, so a shopper who requires a complete battery kit should select the LM3004SP-2 or a different confirmed package.
The 30-inch machine uses EGO’s 56V ARC Lithium platform, and the operator’s manual says it can operate with one or two battery packs. EGO recommends packs totaling at least 6 Ah for best performance; the catalog’s up-to-75-minute figure is tied to two 6.0 Ah packs in Mode 1, not to the bare-tool purchase as shipped. It is a manufacturer maximum, not a measured lawn-area promise. Grass density, moisture, height, pace and blade condition change runtime, and the faster Turbo blade setting significantly reduces it.
Code boundary: the official operating manual pairs LM3000SP and LM3000SP-FC under one mower-family guide, while EGO’s current configuration table identifies LM3000SP as tool-only and LM3004SP-2 as the separate two-battery kit. This assessment’s no-battery package facts apply to LM3000SP only. The manual does not establish a separate -FC carton, warranty or sales status; leave those fields unknown and verify the exact included-item list before relying on a bare-tool filter.
A broad deck needs a broad route
The advertised cutting width is 30 inches; the manual separately lists a 30.8-inch deck size. Neither is the complete mower’s outside width, so measure the narrowest gate, path, shed opening and storage turn rather than treating either number as a clearance guarantee. The mower weighs 103.6 pounds without a battery, with the mulch insert installed. Adding packs increases the load, and the manual calls it a heavy object requiring two people to lift from its carton. Self-propelled travel helps during a mowing pass, but it does not make the mower light to lift, load or pivot around a tight tree bed.
For open, relatively unobstructed ground, the wider cut may reduce passes compared with a 21- or 22-inch machine. That is a route-fit benefit, not proof that it will mow a larger lawn on one charge. If gates are narrow, turns are frequent, or the mower must often be carried, compare the narrower LM2244SP-2 or LM2206SP instead. Their decks and battery kits differ, so do not assume either is a direct substitute for every 30-inch task.
Drive, blade choices and clipping setup
EGO identifies the LM3000SP platform as self-propelled with Touch Drive. The manual describes a speed dial and self-propel triggers, and says powered travel can operate independently of blade rotation; the mower can also be pushed with the drive off. EGO publishes two motors, two independent blades, up to 13.2 ft-lb of torque and blade speed up to 3,800 rpm. Those are manufacturer specifications, not comparative test results. The three selectable blade modes are Mode 1 for the quietest, longest-runtime operation, Mode 2 for a balance, and Turbo for faster, higher-lift cutting. A high published rpm does not mean every mode runs at that speed.
The manual’s packing list names a grass bag and frame, a factory-installed mulch insert, and a side-discharge chute, in addition to the mower and manual. Bagging requires removing the mulch insert; side discharge uses the insert with the chute. Height adjustment has nine settings from 1 to 5 inches, but the front and rear levers are separate and must be set alike. EGO’s catalog also lists a separate 30-inch high-lift blade accessory. The exact LM3000SP package list does not establish that this additional blade set is included; if an extra high-lift blade in the carton is essential, this configuration does not pass that condition.
Practical limits and who should choose it
This configuration makes most sense for a homeowner who already owns suitable EGO batteries and a charger, wants a 30-inch self-propelled cut, has enough access and turning room, and is comfortable managing a heavy walk-behind. It is less suitable if the exact purchase must include a battery, if the mower must be lifted frequently, or if an extra high-lift set must be confirmed in the box. A finder choice requiring at least one included battery correctly rejects LM3000SP; a 30-inch minimum, two active ports, supported side-discharge operation or selectable blade-speed modes can still match it.
Follow the manual rather than treating splash resistance as permission to mow in rain: the IPX4 rating describes the mower-and-battery system, while EGO says not to cut wet grass. The manual prohibits slopes steeper than 15 degrees, recommends removing no more than about 1.5 inches of growth at a time, and requires removing the battery packs before adjustment, cleaning or service. It also cautions against directing water at the drive shaft or motor fan. The folded handle can make storage more compact; although the manual depicts upright storage, it strongly recommends laying the mower flat and keeping it stable if stored upright.
EGO’s site displayed “Coming Soon” for the 30-inch configurations when checked, while the 2026 catalog calls LM3000SP a new additional SKU. Treat a catalog identity as different from current seller stock. Search the exact LM3000SP code and verify the package listing; do not confuse it with LM3004SP-2, which is the battery-and-charger kit.
