Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Do you specifically need a conventional steering-wheel rider rather than a zero-turn?
The exact CRT426(TYPE2) family is a conventional tractor; the manual describes steering-wheel operation.

SKU 7420602 package lists 4 packs; total Ah is nominal addition, not runtime.

Explore this need in the finder →Do you need an included bagger or mulch plug?
Neither attachment is established in the exact box list; do not treat this configuration as satisfying a required included accessory.
Explore this need in the finder →Greenworks uses CRT4262 for several U.S. riding-mower kits. This review is specifically SKU 7420602: a 60V, 42-inch CrossoverT tractor package with four 8Ah batteries and two dual-port turbo chargers. It is the smaller-battery-count twin-charger setup, not the six-pack SKU 7422402 and not SKU 7432002, which has four packs but one 600W wall charger. Check the SKU before comparing a product page or order.
Why this box is different
The official listing gives this four-pack kit maker-stated maxima of up to 1.5 acres, up to 35 minutes of runtime and 90 minutes to recharge with the two dual-port chargers. Those are Greenworks claims, not results measured on a real lawn here. Four 8Ah packs total 32Ah by addition; that is useful for identifying the package, not for calculating mowing time. The FAQ says at least three batteries must be installed, with one pack in each of three functional columns for drive and the two blade functions. That statement describes startup layout; it does not establish a three-port charging system.
The two dual-port chargers make this kit a sensible comparison when the specified recharge window matters more than maximum included pack count. It still takes the manual and actual charging conditions seriously: pack temperature, starting state and charge interruptions can change the experience. Make sure the retailer is selling the four-pack/two-charger package, not another CRT4262 variant shown by a page selector. The four batteries are removable Greenworks 60V packs, so people who already own compatible batteries may value the platform, but use only the exact voltage and models approved by Greenworks.
Operating plan and fit
This is a conventional steering-wheel lawn tractor, not a zero-turn. The CRT426(TYPE2) manual describes the lawn-tractor controls and gives 42 inches as the cutting width. For a shed or narrow path, Greenworks lists dimensions of roughly 60.9 inches long, 46 inches high and 53 inches wide with the discharge chute. Check these larger measurements and turning clearances; the 42-inch cut does not mean the machine fits a 42-inch opening. A steering-wheel tractor also needs room to turn and approach beds, whereas lap-bar zero-turn models have a different handling pattern.
The exact listing says cutting speed up to 6mph, but the Type2 manual's mowing-speed settings top out at 5mph. The manual separately allows an 8mph transport setting and up to 3mph reverse. For mowing, use the manual rather than assuming the faster marketing line applies across grass conditions. The listed cut-height range is 1.5–4.5 inches across seven settings. The maker's 1.5-acre maximum remains a screening claim, not a guarantee for uneven, wet, obstructed or overgrown ground.
Plan clipping handling before committing
Greenworks describes the mower as 3-in-1, and the manual explains side discharge and mulching. Yet the package list for SKU 7420602 does not name a mulch cover or bagger. The separate 7504802 bagging kit's general wording mentions CrossoverT/CrossoverZ, but its detailed fit table does not settle every current Type2 SKU. Therefore this review treats side discharge as the confirmed ready-to-mow plan. It does not promise bagging compatibility or included mulching hardware. If collecting leaves or clipping-heavy spring growth is essential, get confirmation for the exact mower code and attachment before purchase; do not assume the shared family name establishes fit.
There are conservative operating limits as well. The manual gives a 15-degree maximum slope, but a maximum is not an assurance for slippery or unstable terrain. It says not to mow in rain. The manual label says not to tow because towing may damage the drive system, while the website FAQ gives a towing figure. Because those conflict, we do not recommend towing this model or promise a towing capacity. Greenworks should resolve that conflict in writing before a hitch or trailer is part of the plan.
Who this package may suit
Shortlist SKU 7420602 if you want a seated, battery-powered tractor with steering-wheel control, a 42-inch deck and the exact four-pack/two-charger arrangement. It is a more specific choice than “the 42-inch Greenworks rider”: battery count and included charger set are real differences. The manufacturer advertises a four-year limited tool-and-battery warranty, while the type-2 manual states four years or 200 hours, whichever occurs first, for personal use and subject to exclusions. Keep the exact SKU and serial with your purchase documents and verify coverage terms.
It is a poor fit if you need a verified included catcher, want a lap-bar zero-turn, or cannot store a full-sized riding machine indoors and dry. The manual warns against rain operation and says not to hose or pressure-wash the tractor; follow its cleaning and maintenance steps. Before using the acreage claim, compare the actual yard shape, slopes, gates and mowing frequency with the manual's limits. For a larger battery bundle, compare SKU 7422402; for a four-pack kit with one higher-rated wall charger, compare 7432002. Do not make the comparison on claimed runtime alone: the manufacturer figures and chargers differ, and neither replaces fit and support confirmation.
