Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Do you specifically need a conventional steering-wheel rider rather than a zero-turn?
The exact CRT426(TYPE2) family is a conventional tractor; the manual describes steering-wheel operation.
Explore this need in the finder →Must this exact kit include at least 6 8Ah packs?
SKU 7422402 package lists 6 packs; total Ah is nominal addition, not runtime.
Explore this need in the finder →Is the exact package manufacturer's 5-hour maximum recharge claim acceptable?
The exact page states a package-specific listed charge time; real charging conditions vary.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you need an included bagger or mulch plug?
Neither attachment is established in the exact box list; do not treat this configuration as satisfying a required included accessory.
Explore this need in the finder →This review is for Greenworks CRT4262, exact U.S. package SKU 7422402: the 60V, 42-inch CrossoverT riding mower supplied with six 8Ah batteries and one 600W wall charger. The CrossoverT has a steering wheel and tractor layout; it is not the lap-bar CrossoverZ zero-turn with a similar CRT/CRZ name. Confirm the full SKU on the carton or invoice, because the product page selector groups substantially different battery and charger kits.
What the six-pack changes
Greenworks lists this package for up to 2.5 acres and a five-hour recharge, with six removable 8Ah batteries and a single 600W charger. Those are manufacturer figures, not measured mowing results. Six packs add up to 48Ah by label, but that arithmetic is not a runtime or energy guarantee. In particular, do not borrow the 35-minute runtime published for the four-battery sibling SKU: the six-pack page does not give that figure in the same specification block. The official FAQ says the tractor needs at least three batteries installed, one in each of three functional columns for drive and the left and right blade functions. Greenworks does not thereby establish three independent charging ports.
The extra batteries are the reason to compare this exact kit with the smaller CRT4262 boxes. SKU 7420602 has four 8Ah packs and two dual-port chargers; SKU 7432002 also has four packs but a 600W charger. Their listed area and recharge claims differ. If you have a firm requirement for a specific kit or charger arrangement, choose by SKU rather than the shared model title.
A tractor, not a zero-turn
The CRT426(TYPE2) operator manual identifies a conventional lawn tractor with steering wheel, not zero-turn lap bars. That difference matters around trees, narrow beds and tight turns: measure the full route and expect to use a different turning approach from a zero-turn rider. The 42-inch cutting width is not the whole storage measurement. The manual's type-2 table gives a length of 60.9 inches, 46 inches high and 53 inches wide with the discharge chute. Check door openings and turning space before buying; include mirrors, wall obstructions and the route into storage rather than relying on deck width alone.
There is also a meaningful marketing/manual discrepancy. Greenworks product copy promotes mowing at up to 6mph, while the CRT426(TYPE2) manual's mowing settings top out at 5mph. The manual lists a higher 8mph selection for transport and up to 3mph in reverse. These are different operating contexts; don't use the transport speed as a mowing expectation or let the six-mph headline replace the manual. The manual lists seven cutting heights from 1.5 to 4.5 inches.
Clippings and terrain need careful planning
The page calls the deck 3-in-1, but the exact package list names the mower, six batteries, charger and manual—not a bagger or mulch cover. Greenworks sells a separate 42-inch bagging kit, and its broad copy names CrossoverT and CrossoverZ; the detailed compatibility list does not identify all current Type2 package SKUs. Treat exact fit as unconfirmed and verify with Greenworks before relying on bagging. The Type2 manual describes side discharge and gives mulching instructions, but the box contents do not prove a mulch cover is included. Only side discharge is a verified ready-to-use plan in this assessment. A shopper who must have a catcher or included mulching attachment should not assume this carton has it.
Follow the actual manual for slope and surface conditions. Its 15-degree limit is not a promise that every slope at that angle is safe. The manual says not to mow in rain and warns against washing with a hose or pressure washer. Greenworks' FAQ separately states a 350-pound towing capacity, but the Type2 manual safety label says not to tow because it may damage the drive system. We do not recommend towing or use the FAQ number as a matching capability. Request written model-specific clarification before using a hitch.
Who should shortlist it?
SKU 7422402 is worth comparing if you want a steering-wheel electric tractor, need its six-pack configuration, can accommodate the full rider and have a place to charge and store a large machine. The advertised 2.5 acres can be a preliminary screening point, not proof that your grass, slopes, obstacles or mowing schedule fit. A yard with wet ground, long grass, intricate obstacles or steep sections may not behave like the maker's rating scenario.
Its tradeoff is not simply “more batteries is better”: the six-pack configuration is paired with one 600W wall charger and a five-hour listed recharge, while other exact kits use two dual-port chargers and list shorter recharge windows. If speed of recharging is the deciding need, compare those exact configurations and confirm real charging behavior and the contents you will receive. Do not buy on a price or stock signal copied from a dated listing; verify the exact product code and terms at purchase. The exact page advertises a four-year limited tool-and-battery warranty. The manual states four years or 200 hours for personal use, whichever occurs first, with conditions and exclusions; keep the serial and purchase record and check the warranty that applies to the delivered unit.
