Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Do you require the Greenworks 82V CRZ4282 package rather than its similar-named 80V sibling?
Greenworks identifies CRZ4282A1 as 82V and CRZ4282A2 as 80V; use the suffix and voltage label, not the shared CRZ4282 model stem.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you need a 42-inch lap-bar zero-turn rider rather than a conventional lawn tractor?
The CRZ4282 family manual identifies a 42-inch zero-turn with steering-control levers; it is not a steering-wheel lawn tractor.
Explore this need in the finder →Is the maker's up-to-2-acre maximum-area statement adequate for the yard you are comparing?
Greenworks gives this exact A1 kit an up-to-2-acre statement; actual coverage depends on the yard and mowing conditions.
Explore this need in the finder →Must at least six battery packs be included in the exact kit?
The A1 support listing specifies six 6.0Ah batteries; the count is package contents, not a runtime guarantee.
Explore this need in the finder →This assessment is for the U.S. Greenworks CRZ4282A1 package: the manufacturer’s support listing identifies an 82V 42-inch CrossoverZ zero-turn mower with six 6.0Ah batteries and one 600W wall charger. The short model name “CRZ4282” is also used on a different 80V package, SKU CRZ4282A2. Compare the full SKU and voltage label; do not assume a similar title means the same battery system or performance claim.
A seated zero-turn with a specified six-pack
The A1 is a battery-powered rider rather than a conventional lawn tractor. Greenworks lists three brushless motors, lap-bar steering in the CRZ4282 manual, a 42-inch cutting width and seven deck positions. The manufacturer’s maximum-area statement for this exact A1 package is “up to 2 acres.” Treat that as a comparison ceiling, not a promise for a particular lawn: slope, grass growth, turns, cut height, speed and clipping method can change how much ground a charge covers.
Six 6Ah packs total 36Ah by arithmetic. That is a description of the included set, not a cross-voltage runtime rating. The 82V A1 kit also lists one 600W wall charger. Its support listing gives a 75-minute “Turbo Charge Time,” but does not explain the battery state or whether the figure applies to one pack or the full six-pack set. Do not plan a return-to-work time by assuming all six batteries recharge together in 75 minutes. Confirm the charging sequence and exact battery/charger labels for the package being offered.
Measure the whole mower, not just the deck
A 42-inch cutting width is productive across open lawn, but it is not the machine’s full pass-through width. The CRZ4282 family manual lists 53.46 inches across with the discharge chute. Measure gates, shed doors, trailer ramps and tight turns against that wider dimension, then leave extra clearance for steering. The manual’s technical table lists forward speeds of 4, 6 and up to 8 mph, reverse up to 3 mph, and a 3,200-rpm maximum no-load cutting speed. The A1 page separately claims a constant 17,000 feet-per-minute blade-tip speed. Those are different units and measurements; do not treat 17,000 as RPM.
The manual warns against mowing slopes over 15 degrees and calls for mowing up and down a slope rather than across it. A stated upper limit is not an assurance that a particular slope, wet patch or drop-off is safe. Its safety symbols also say not to tow the mower; do not assume the hitch or chassis can pull a cart. This is a large lap-bar machine, and the manual calls for training before operation. A first-time zero-turn buyer should budget time to learn the controls on a clear, level area before working near obstacles.
Clippings and practical limits
The manual describes the deck’s shipped setup as side discharge and discusses installing a mulch cover for mulching. The A1 support result confirms the mower, batteries and charger, but does not establish that a mulch cover or bagger is in the carton. The Greenworks listing for this package also does not settle exact bagger fit. If bagging or mulching is essential, verify the correct attachment and what comes with the mower before treating it as a match. The available A1 evidence does not confirm deck material, a minimum/maximum cut-height range, actual runtime, or how much grass it will cut under your conditions; those remain unknown here.
Do not confuse the 80V and 82V CRZ4282 packages
The similar-named CRZ4282A2 is a separate 80V kit, also shown with six 6Ah batteries and a 600W charger. Greenworks publishes up to 2.5 acres and a 4.5-hour recharge statement for A2, while its A1 support listing says up to 2 acres and 75 minutes of turbo charge time. Do not transfer either figure across SKUs or interpret the 75-minute phrase as a full six-pack charging schedule. If you already own compatible Greenworks equipment, choose by the exact battery voltage and confirm compatibility with the manufacturer rather than relying on the shared model stem. The A2 review explains the 80V package’s separate tradeoffs.
There is also a warranty detail worth settling before purchase. The A1 support listing states a four-year limited tool-and-battery term, while the linked CRZ4282 family manual describes three years for consumer/private use. Ask Greenworks or the seller for the written warranty that applies to the exact A1 SKU and serial number; this review does not resolve the discrepancy. No price or stock promise is made here.
Who should shortlist it?
Shortlist the CRZ4282A1 if a seated, 42-inch lap-bar zero-turn is the form you want, the maker’s up-to-2-acre claim is a reasonable planning reference, and a Greenworks 82V package is the right fit for your equipment plans. Its six-pack configuration is useful to compare as a kit, but it also means you need room for a wide rider and a realistic charging plan. It is a poor fit if you require a steering-wheel lawn tractor, a guaranteed 2-acre cut, a confirmed included bagger, or a stated warranty term without first resolving the package-specific details. A smaller walk-behind mower may be easier through narrow access; the A2 is an alternative only if its distinct 80V platform is acceptable.
