The manual documents rear bagging with the grass catcher.
Explore this need in the finder →The LM2516S is the 60V 25-inch self-propelled package, not just a mower name. Greenworks maps the exact U.S. listing to SKU 2531502 and internal model MO60L427. Its listed box includes the mower, catcher, two 4.0Ah 60V batteries, a 6-amp dual-port charger and the manual. That combination matters if you are comparing a bare tool or a smaller pack kit: the battery platform is part of this purchase, not an optional detail.
Who the wide walk-behind layout suits
A 25-inch cutting path can reduce the number of straight passes compared with a 21-inch walk mower, while remaining a machine you guide on foot rather than a riding mower. The trade is space: the cutting deck is not the full handle or wheel width, and a wide machine may be awkward around narrow gates, curved beds and tight storage. Measure the whole mower’s route into the shed, not only the advertised deck. Greenworks says the folding handle saves storage space, but that does not make a 25-inch deck narrow.
The package has two battery positions with automatic switchover, and its self-propel drive can be used separately from the blade. That gives a practical option to walk behind it without engaging powered travel when terrain or precision makes that preferable. The manual describes a drive lever and a separate speed control; it lists travel from 1.9 to 4.9 feet per second. The mower is therefore not a push-only model, even though its drive can be left disengaged. If that distinction matters, compare it with a truly push-only 40V Greenworks mower such as the LM2104.
Clippings, blades and the “3-in-1” language
The linked manual documents two clipping arrangements: mulch with the plug fitted, or collect in the rear bag. The product page also calls the mower “3-in-1” in one summary and mentions Turbo leaf pickup, but elsewhere describes bagging and mulching as its two systems. Treat Turbo as a way to collect leaves with the bag and high-lift blade setup, not as evidence of a side-discharge chute. The manual’s high-lift blade set is listed separately, while its function table still names mulch and rear bag. If a third clipping outlet is essential, this is not a confirmed side-discharge choice.
Greenworks’ page says the brushless mower adapts power to grass and gives a 4,500-rpm Turbo maximum. The manual’s technical table lists 4,000 rpm normal and 4,500 rpm in Turbo, seven cut-height positions from 1⅜ to 4 inches, and a 70.6-pound mower weight without the battery pack. The page also publishes 70.6 pounds without a clear battery basis. Its extra high-lift blades may help move clippings into the bag, but the manual still warns against mowing wet grass; a high-lift option is not permission to work on slippery ground.
Runtime is a planning claim, not a yard guarantee
Greenworks advertises up to 60 minutes with the included packs and an 80-minute recharge estimate, described as 40 minutes per battery. The same product page gives more than one area claim: a kit summary says up to one acre, while another feature says up to three-quarters of an acre. Those are manufacturer maxima, and the page does not reconcile them. I would not treat either number as a guarantee for a particular property. Frequent bagging, tall growth, terrain and travel speed can change how much one charge covers; keep a reserve or a charging interval if your routine approaches the advertised limit.
One maker page description calls the 60V mower IPX4/weather-resistant. That label should not be confused with permission to cut wet grass: the operator manual says not to mow wet grass, and its slope instructions emphasize secure footing and mowing across a slope rather than up and down. Greenworks gives a 15-degree maximum slope limit. Remove the safety key and packs before cleaning or servicing, and use the manual’s dry-cloth cleaning guidance.
Compare the exact battery platform
The closest functional alternative in this two-model 25-inch group is the 40V LM2504S. Both are self-propelled and supply two 4Ah packs, a dual-port charger, a bag and a high-lift blade set. The 60V model is the stronger fit if your existing tools are on Greenworks 60V and you value the shorter stated charge interval or longer maximum-runtime claim. The 40V LM2504S is a different platform, has a three-year rather than four-year limited warranty, and Greenworks’ page says its own maximum-area claim is one-half acre. Batteries are not cross-voltage interchangeable. For smaller gates, a 21-inch mower such as the Greenworks LM2108S trades width for easier passage; check that review for its separate 80V kit identity.
Choose the LM2516S only if the 25-inch width fits your property and the two included 60V 4Ah batteries suit your tool system. Its high-lift set and rear catcher support collection; its mulch plug gives a separate mulch plan. Skip it if you require documented side discharge, a verified area-per-charge result, a lighter transport weight, or a mower guaranteed for wet grass. Greenworks lists a four-year limited tool and battery warranty for this package, but the warranty applies under its stated terms, not as an assurance about wear parts or commercial use.

| Reviewed package | U.S. LM2516S / SKU2531502 / internal MO60L427: mower, two 60V 4.0Ah packs, one 6A dual-port charger, rear grass catcher and manual. Manufacturer page advertises four-year limited mower and battery warranties under stated terms. |
| Blade package detail | The linked MO60L427 manual packing list includes a high-lift blade set. This is recorded separately from the questionnaire’s distinct “high-lift bagging lower blade” option; the manual does not establish that EGO-style blade configuration. The manual documents mulch and rear bag as the clipping routes. |
| Care and operation note | Manual says avoid wet grass and slopes over 15 degrees, mow across a slope rather than up/down, remove safety key and battery packs before service, and clean with a dry cloth. It documents vertical/folded storage. |
