EGO LM2130-FC 21-inch Select Cut push mower (reconditioned bare tool) review

The EGO LM2130-FC is a 21-inch, push-only Select Cut mower sold as a reconditioned bare tool. Acme identifies the exact model code and UPC, describes the unit as refurbished, lists a bag kit and a one-year limited warranty, and says the package has no battery or charger. This is not the battery-included LM2135 kit or the self-propelled LM2130SP. It is most relevant to someone who already has a compatible EGO battery and charger and is comfortable buying a reconditioned machine.

Push-only is a real choice, not a missing feature

EGO’s manual groups LM2130-FC with the LM2130 push mower and says the self-propel system is absent on that group. The operator supplies the forward motion. That keeps the comparison straightforward: choose it if you prefer a simple push mower and do not need powered walking assistance; choose an SP model if pushing is an unacceptable part of the job. The 21-inch cut width is a useful middle ground for residential beds and turns, but it does not tell you whether the mower will fit through your gate or storage opening. Measure the assembled mower and route, rather than treating deck width as the full machine width.

Clipping choices depend on the setup in the box

Acme lists mulching, bagging, and side discharge for this SKU. Its exact package field, however, says “Mower Bare Tool, Bag Kit”; the bagging kit is the only clipping attachment that field explicitly names. EGO’s manual cover and specification table name LM2130-FC and the family packing-list table lists a grass bag, frame, mulching insert, side-discharge chute, and an extended-runtime lower blade for the LM2130/LM2130-FC group. The same table marks the high-lift bagging lower blade as not included in this group. Because the refurbished seller’s shorter package description does not inventory those additional pieces, verify the actual carton before relying on the insert, chute, or a particular blade being present. The body’s documented modes are not a promise that every accessory survived reconditioning.

Do not assume a particular cut-height range

The exact-family EGO manual specifies eight approximate cutting-height positions from 1 to 4 inches. Acme’s exact LM2130-FC page instead says seven positions from 1.5 to 4 inches. That is a meaningful disagreement for anyone with a required lowest setting, and this review does not choose one figure for matching. If you need the one-inch setting or a specific position count, ask the seller to identify the manual and configuration supplied with the refurbished unit before ordering. The listing also gives two different weight values without explaining their bases; neither is used here as a dependable carry or storage weight.

Budget for a separate battery and charger

“Bare tool” is decisive here: the retailer lists zero batteries and no charger. The EGO 56V ARC Lithium platform gives an existing EGO owner a path to use a compatible pack, but the mower-only purchase does not get a first-time buyer mowing. The exact LM2130-family manual estimates about 45, 35, or 20 minutes under light, medium, or heavy load when paired with its listed BA2800T/BA2800T-FC battery. EGO warns that grass species, density, moisture, blade sharpness, and cutting amount change running time. Those are manufacturer estimates with a separately supplied pack, not a measured result or an acreage guarantee. Do not transfer the current EGO page’s longer 7.5 Ah claim to this bare-tool carton.

Reconditioned terms deserve a separate check

The seller uses both “reconditioned” and “refurbished” and lists a one-year limited warranty, but does not identify who performed the work or describe the history, battery condition, repairs, or cosmetic grade of an individual unit. The -FC suffix alone does not establish factory certification. Stock is also changeable; the exact retailer page showed this item out of stock when checked. Before buying, confirm current availability, the delivered model label, warranty provider and exclusions, return terms, included attachments, and whether the unit is covered by any model- or serial-specific safety notice. No claim about a particular refurbished mower’s condition or recall status can be made from a catalog listing.

Who should consider it?

This configuration suits an EGO 56V owner who wants a 21-inch push mower, accepts the seller’s reconditioned condition and limited warranty, and is prepared to verify the refurbished carton. It is a poor fit if an included battery or charger, self-propelled drive, certified factory reconditioning, or a guaranteed one-inch cut setting is essential. An attachment-specific bagging requirement also deserves a check: the seller names a bag kit, but the manual does not list the high-lift lower blade for this model group.

Compare the standard LM2130 tool-only configuration if you want the same basic push-mower format without this seller’s reconditioned-unit caveats, the LM2135 kit if an included battery and charger matter, or the LM2130SP-FC if powered travel assistance is more important than push-only operation. The exact Acme LM2130-FC listing, EGO’s LM2130 configuration page, and EGO’s linked family manual identify the package and the body-family details described here; they do not establish the condition of a particular unit.
